At
the scale of the neighborhood, a comprehensive and ecological infrastructure
system is planned to decrease reliance on conventional storm water management
and wastewater treatment systems.
Natural features including bio-swales, rain gardens and wetlands slow
the flow of storm water to the canals that surround the site, and managed lawns
and native plants enforce a relationship between residents and nature.
